Surviving Your First Year in Outreach

Outreach for the Introvert: Welcome

MisIvy and I are writing this book for those whose hearts want to share but feel shy when it’s time to shine. Outreach is more than a job that requires certain soft skills and is not only for extroverts. “Introvert” and “extrovert” are just two terms that describe how people recharge after a long day. An extrovert is someone who is fueled by social interaction. Introverts recharge their batteries with solitary activities.

This information is focused on the person who is brand new to outreach and has the passion and drive to spread their mission’s message…but sometimes, you can be your biggest enemy. As an outreach worker, you’re the face of the organization in the community. If speaking in front of a crowd makes you want to hide; if your manager keeps asking how you fill your work day, this blog – and this book - is for you. In this blog you’ll find resources for mapping an impactful community outreach plan, ways to research your coverage area, and how find where your target audience works, plays, and prays. You’ll also get ideas for how to recharge your batteries so you can go back out there and be awesome again.

Follow the blog for new posts and social media for the book's journey. We're glad you're here and we can't wait to see the impact you'll make!

Enjoy the journey!
