ABOUT ME

Communications Professional | Marketing Generalist | Social Media Strategist | Aspiring Author

My name is Rachel. I have 10 years of experience in the nonprofit, higher education, and healthcare sectors. A few of my proudest accomplishments are with the Peace Corps (Republic of Vanuatu '08-'10) and AmeriCorps ('13-'14). My commitment to public service continues along my career path as I want to use my creative and analytical skills to help good organizations promote their good works through effective communication, storytelling, and engaging content, especially on social media. My dream goal is a career in the federal government or space industry and to help social service agencies.

I'm a recent MBA graduate and a proud alumna of Saint Leo University (Go Lions!). I went for an MBA because I wanted to bring a business mindset to social services' marketing. Social media offers the engagement and two-way conversation that helps nonprofits and governments particularly need to nurture relationships with their audiences and stakeholders.

Outside of my career ambitions, I’m a happy Florida transplant from upstate New York and the granddaughter of a dairy farmer. I’m currently co-authoring a book with a friend to help those in their first year in outreach, working in therapeutic massage therapy, learning the craft of writing and editing, and going to the beach whenever I can.
